COVID-19: Changing How We Care, Not That We Care
The COVID-19 public health crisis has resulted in significant adjustments for everyone. Those providing services to Durham’s infants and young children are being asked for guidance and being asked to deliver best practices for supporting families during these new and challenging times.
This free webinar, presented by Dr. Robin Gurwitch and Dr. Lisa Amaya-Jackson, is designed to support the front line staff who continue to serve Durham’s children and families during this crisis. The webinar will be offered on Friday, May 22, and Tuesday, May 26.
The presentation will discuss how the COVID-19 crisis is unique, as well as lessons learned from other public health crisis events. It will address the mental health impact of COVID-19 on young children and families and provide recommendations for supporting families. Ideas for mental health coping for the helpers will also be presented.
Brought to you by the READY Project, this online training and dialogue will enlighten and encourage staff from many fields, including education, pediatrics, early intervention, family support, counseling, social work, child welfare, and more.
