North Carolina Child Treatment Program

The North Carolina Child Treatment Program (NC CTP) trains licensed mental health practitioners throughout the state in evidence-based treatments for child traumatic stress and related diagnoses. Training is delivered in rigorous learning collaboratives where trainees put the treatment models into clinical practice under supervision by master trainers over the course of a year or more. Clinicians who successfully complete training requirements are listed on a public web-based roster, which helps families and other professionals find effective treatment for child traumatic stress close to home.

By increasing the trauma responsiveness of North Carolina’s mental health workforce, NC CTP is improving the health and functioning of children, teens, and families coping with attachment difficulties, trauma symptoms, and significant behavioral-emotional challenges.
