CCFH is pleased to invite adoptive parents, foster parents, and kinship caregivers to take part in an upcoming workshop:
A Workshop for Resource Parents
Wednesdays, 7-9 PM
February 19- April 9, 2025
The first and last sessions will be in person at CCFH in Durham. Sessions 2-7 will all be held virtually (on Zoom).
The Resource Parent Curriculum (RPC) is an 8-session course (16 credit hours) that provides support for parents raising children who are or have been in the child welfare system or institutionalized care. The curriculum, developed by the National Child Traumatic Stress Network, provides time each session for parents to discuss a particular child in their care, and to try out new skills and tools that help reduce the stress of parenting children who have experienced trauma. There is no cost to enroll, but eligibility requires you are currently caring for a foster/adoptive/kindship placement child and will be able to attend two in-person sessions at CCFH.
