CCFH will launch a groundbreaking initiative to support the success of children in foster care and those who care for them, thanks to a three-year, $1 million project funded by the North Carolina GlaxoSmithKline Foundation.
This project will allow us to reach as many as 1,500 children and caregivers across North Carolina with the Resource Parenting Curriculum, an evidence-based program that addresses the unique challenges faced by foster children, foster parents, and child welfare systems by focusing on trauma-informed caregiving and the stability of foster homes.
“With this funding, we are not only expanding access to a critical program but also empowering foster parents, social service case workers, and other professionals to provide the tailored care that each child needs to succeed,” Executive Director Robert Murphy said. “We are incredibly grateful to the North Carolina GlaxoSmithKline Foundation for its generous support, which allows us to make a significant impact on the lives of children in foster care.”
The project will include comprehensive training for caregivers, social workers, and other professionals, equipping them with the skills to implement the program effectively. In addition, CCFH will collaborate with child welfare agencies and community partners to create a supportive network for these children.
