On a cold and sunny day in January, more than 1,000 racers donned their running shoes and T-shirts to participate in the Shamrock ‘N Run 5K event to support the families served by CCFH.
The Kappa Delta Sorority’s Beta Chi Chapter at UNC Chapel Hill plans and hosts this annual run, a tradition for some three decades. This year these powerful and committed women prepared and executed multiple events, recruiting more than 20 race sponsors for the Jan. 28 event. Not only did they organize the largest Shamrock Run yet, they also held a silent auction and a Shamrock Kickoff Dinner.
All together, the Kappa Delta’s RAISED $83,377 for CCFH this year. This money will go toward supporting our programs to nurture and support children. More importantly, the Kappa Deltas have raised MORE THAN $600,000 since 2006 for the work we do in addressing childhood trauma in our community.
The seniors leading the events are passionate about what they do, and we cannot thank them enough for their dedication to our cause.
