2024 Post Adoption Parent Conference

Please join Post Adoption Support Services for our

10th annual Parent Conference!

Registration is free for eligible adoptive parents
Friday, February 16th, 2024 from 8:30 AM-3:00 PM
At the McKimmon Center, 1101 Gorman Street, Raleigh, NC 27606

We will be hearing from professionals and adoptive parents about how to navigate the challenges of adoptive parenting by fostering holistic wellness for the whole family.

Our topics will include concrete steps to support stress-reduction, healthy grieving, foundational needs of children, and how to prioritize and make space for wellness as a parent.

Throughout the day, attendees will participate in interactive discussions and have time to connect with other adoptive parents in the area.

Presentations include:

Kate Murray, Ph.D. and Director of Post Adoption Support Services on creating an action plan to change your relationship with stress, reclaim wellness, and reflect on your strengths as a parent.

Jessica Burch on how to support adoptees in healthy ways to process unresolved grief and loss.

Charlotte Elder on how to practically create space for self-care, even when there does not seem to be the time or energy to do so.

Latanya Dubois on how to identify your needs as a parent and be more present not only with your children, but with yourself.

Dr. Sarah LeMay-Russell on how to help your child regulate successfully around mealtimes and sleep in ways that support their growth, healing and development.
