Margaret Dardess, PhD

Margaret Dardess first joined the CCFH Board as a UNC-Chapel Hill representative in 2003. Dr. Dardess joined the UNC faculty following 15 years at GlaxoSmithKline, where she began in 1987 in the Legal Department and later served as Senior Vice President of Corporate Affairs of Glaxo Wellcome, Inc. She served in administration at the university from 2002 to 2012 when she retired. Dr. Dardess rejoined the CCFH board in 2015 as a community representative. Though successful and accomplished in the corporate world, Dr. Dardess’ passion was to write. In 2017, Dr. Dardess wrote her first book, Brutal Silence, a thriller  about a southern woman’s experience with and escape from human trafficking. She is currently working on a sequel to Brutal Silence.
