Heather T. Pane Seifert, PhD, MPP

Heather T. Pane Seifert, PhD, MPP, is a licensed clinical psychologist and faculty with the NC Child Treatment Program. She received her doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the University of Houston and completed her clinical internship at Baylor College of Medicine. She completed a one-year clinical postdoctoral fellowship at DePelchin Children’s Center in Houston and a two-year National Research Service Award (NRSA) mental health postdoctoral research fellowship at Duke University Medical Center. Prior to attending UH, she completed her Master of Public Policy at the University of Chicago where she also attained a certificate in Health Administration and Policy.

Dr. Pane Seifert has collaborated on multiple training and research projects to promote the effectiveness, implementation, and dissemination of evidence-based assessment and treatment, and trauma-informed care for children and families who have experienced traumatic events. She has also provided evidence-based assessment and treatment for children and adults experiencing diverse emotional and behavioral difficulties, including those related to traumatic experiences. Dr. Pane Seifert’s research interests are focused on children who have been exposed to trauma or chronic stress, including those children in or at-risk for out-of-home placements such as group homes and juvenile detention centers. She studies risk and protective factors for psychiatric disorders and functional outcomes, and effectiveness, implementation, and dissemination of evidence-based, trauma-informed treatments for children and families.
